Students demand to open academic activities in KUET
As a result of the quota reform movement, the UGC announced the closure of all university campuses. Accordingly, like other universities, all educational programs of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) were announced shut on July 17. As per the decision of the emergency syndicate meeting of KUET, all educational programs are closed until further notice. In this situation, the students are worried about when the campus will reopen and when the exams will be held. They fear session congestion.
Several fourth year students of Energy Science and Engineering Department of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology expressed their concern because the campus was closed. But the current situation is standing in the way of that dream.
A student said, now the campus is closed, the exam has been postponed. I am worried about when the exams will be held and when the graduation will be completed. Our KUET campus is located far away from Khulna city, no unusual situation has arisen here. Still the campus is closed. We cannot return to the hall. This is disrupting our normal educational activities.
He further said, due to closure of campuses, we are delaying our graduation, we are lagging behind in the job market. Many want to go abroad for higher education, they are also getting delayed. The demand of the common students is only one, that the campus should be opened, all the activities of the university should resume normally.
Assistant Professor of Energy Science and Engineering Department of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Dr. Mahmudul Alam said in this regard, students are the lifeblood of a university. We hope that, by all accounts, the university will be opened soon, regular academic activities will resume and students will roam the campus safely.
